Elected by, and from among the members of the General Body, a nine member Executive Committee for a term of two years is constituted as follows:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • ED/Member Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Five Members

The Executive Committee has to pursue and carry out the objects of SSS as set forth in its Articles of Association and the By-laws.

Responsible for general direction, management and administration, the Executive Committee, represented by the Executive Director as ex-officio Member Secretary of the Executive Committee, performs all day-to day activities as follows:

  • Framing of policy guidelines and implementation strategies
  • Preparation and approval of plans and budget
  • Prepare the Annual Report and cause the preparation of the accounts for consideration of the General Body
  • Vacate posts and appoint such staff as may be required for the efficient management of the affairs of the organization and regulate the requirement and terms and conditions of their services
  • Receive and have custody of the funds and resources and manage the properties of the organization
  • Incur expenditure subject to the provisions of the approved budget
  • Enter for and on behalf of the organization into agreements including those containing arbitration clauses
  • Lay down terms and conditions governing scholarships, fellowships, deputations, consultancy, grants in-aid, research schemes and projects
  • Establish, maintain, amalgamate and/or close down institutions, offices, hostels etc. as may be appropriate in consideration of the interest and benefits of SSS

    Other than obligatory regular meetings, the Executive Director may call meetings as and when necessary. Any business the Executive Committee may consider necessary to perform, except such as may be required to place before the Annual General Meeting, may be performed by a resolution in writing.
