In view of fragile health and vulnerability of the rural poor families and their relative inaccessibility to both public and private health care services, SSS has introduced in 1993 the 'Group Insurance Scheme' to provide crisis coping support to members in cases of death or chronic illness.
Under this programme, a member has to pay 0.5% of each loan taken from SSS as premium and gets health care services free of costs throughout lifetime and on the event of death is given TK 5000/- to the legal heirs. |
